We offer small group functional strength training in a leveled training system. This training system will increase your fitness by using various training modalities . Initially we focus on acquiring basic movement proficient through various body weight exercises. This progress to general strength training with the addition of the kettlebell and TRX. More complex forms of training are then introduced, these include powerlifting, Olympic lifting and more advanced forms of bodyweight training.
We also specialize in bridging the gap between physio and general training with our private movement therapy sessions. These 60 minute 1 on 1 sessions are for those who need more focused attention due to previous injury or medical conditions. In general with work with other health care providers through this phase to best cater your training needs.
Since our inception in 2010, we've evolved into something much, much more. We took the best of what a bootcamp was, took it indoors, and created the most positive fitness environment you will ever experience. The Bootcamp Effect is where you receive that personal training experience at an affordable bootcamp rate. Our sessions go above and beyond what would be seen in a typical bootcamp setting and resemble personal training workouts with the fantastic energy of a group setting.
My goal is to ensure my clients receive a challenging workout without the risk of injury. This is why on your first visit a health assessment will determine your current level of fitness. Together we will work on your goals and expectations in order to develop just the right program for you. The fitness industry has changed a lot and fortunately slogans like no pain, no gain are finally disappearing to make room for a more holistic and overall lifestyle approach. I promote a mix of strength training, cardio fitness and balance to encourage fitness at all levels. I do my best to remain current on the latest fitness trends, attending conventions and workshops to keep up with the ever-changing industry.
Looking at your body using a three compartment model
Bodycomp Imaging makes use of Hologic DXA scanners. These devices use a process called x-ray absorptiometry to take a picture of the body while measuring the amount of tissue per pixel. The human body can be thought of as consisting of three density ranges of tissue: the most dense is the bone mineral content. The lean mass containing non-fatty muscle and organ structures is where almost all calories are burned and power is generated. The fat mass is composed of both essential fatty tissue and also storage fat. This allows us to consider the ratio of muscle to fat to bone and to assess where and how much muscle, fat and bone tissue change over time.
Our imaging also allows us to look at how much visceral fat is in your abdomen and to assess the structure of your spine and pelvis. We can even measure limb length in the extremities and muscle imbalance post injury and during recovery.
