The Burnaby Youth Hub School is a secondary alternate education program run by the Burnaby School District at the Burnaby Youth Hub site. The school has been created to meet the needs of students who have had challenges and difficulties succeeding at traditional high schools. The program is designed for students aged 13-19 years, who have dropped out of the regular school system or who have very high levels of non-attendance even though they have not officially withdrawn. Classes are small and offer great opportunity for academic success.Together with the teachers, students design their own unique program based on their needs and availability. For some, this may mean attending morning classes 5 days a week; for others it may mean attending our Tuesday and Thursday afternoon sessions only. The majority of classes offered at the Hub are self-paced, meaning a student can complete courses as quickly as they wish. There is no requirement to carry a certain number of courses, and students can choose to give greater priority to certain courses should they wish

The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) was created in 1956, when parents of children with disabilities in Burnaby gathered to advocate for the rights of their sons and daughters. We have grown into a non-profit organization that provides innovative services to over 1,000 children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in Metro Vancouver. We provide a wide range of training, development, social, recreational and employment opportunities. Throughout BACI and in our social enterprises – Action Packaging and Yard 'n Works – we support the employment (or economic inclusion) of people with disabilities.BACI continues to seek opportunities to increase social awareness and effect change in the way people with disabilities are viewed in our society.Help us build a more inclusive and caring community by:
At Starlight Child Care Centre we strongly believe that it is through play children learn best. We structured our daycare to provide a warm and safe environment with a wide range of materials which allow children to discover, create, explore, make choices and create to their own interests. Educating provides an opportunity for continuous learning and growth. In our competitive society it is important for children to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware and sensitive to their individual needs.
Cartwheels and Crayons Childcare offers multi-age childcare. We believe that each child is unique and has the right to learn in a safe and nurturing environment that develops the whole child socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. We believe that every child learns and develops differently and that play-based, hands-on activities help children develop many different skills by experimenting, exploring, manipulating and mastering. Our program operates around a daily schedule, a monthly theme and with a focus on physical literacy and multi-language learning.
