La Forchetta equals quality Italian fare, right in the heart of Little Italy. The renowned 600+ wine list is a perfect complement to such tasty items as Goat Cheese stuffed Portabellos, homemade Wild Mushroom Gnocchi and Australian rack of lamb. The Tuscan Style Chicken is a fan favourite.
Really like this place and have been here on several occasions, last month most recently. Very solid menu, very consistently prepared and served. I am a particular fan of their risotto. Quite a pleasant atmosphere, casual and relatively subdued, but good enough to make you feel that dining out is an occasion. Read more

You'll be warmly welcomed in this cozy and inexpensive spot on the College Street strip. The restaurant specializes in Persian cuisine. From appetizers to gourmet dishes, the Pomegranate has its own unique take on Persian specialties. Try the chicken cooked several ways with tart cranberry-like barberries or green pistachios.
I've been to Pomegranate and its twin brother Sheherzade many times with different people. The place is simply amazing. They serve a very authentic Persian food made out of organic ingredients - it simply tastes like heaven! The atmosphere is very special too. You feel like you are in a museum. The walls and the tables are filled with hand-made art and old Iranian photographs so it makes you want to learn more about the ancient Iranian culture. The only downside is that it's very small so always make a reservation. Read more
Tucked next to the well known Pomegranate on College Street is one of Toronto's best kept secrets, Sheba Restaurant. The food is spicy and interesting and the space warm and welcoming. Ethiopian food is all about sharing, so take a band of friends and tuck into a communal platter with an array of dishes and injera bread. Eating with your fingers is typical and makes the experience that much more fun. Favorite dishes include ground split chickpea sauce cooked with onions served in a clay pot called shiro, a vegetarian platter featuring six dishes and kifko which is a traditional dish like steak tartare. Or, go for a combo platter so that you can sample a bit of everything. Dishes are tangy with spicy mustard flavors taste unique to the region. Top it all off with traditional Ethiopian coffee, chat to the beautiful sisters Assi and Sebi who run Sheba Restaurant and add to the exotic atmosphere.
