My family has eaten here for years. Always fresh! Take it home or eat it there, consistently the best fish restaurant in this area. The staff are extremely friendly.
A wide variety of fish types and cooking preferences. I have eaten both deep fried battered fish (haddock) or if you prefer grilled cooking (trout) is also available. I highly recommend this restaurant and encourage everyone to try it, I'm confident you'll be back....

Another delicious meal at Umberto's last night, with great service, a quiet table, and an unpretentious atmosphere. A side note, but important, they hit just the right note with the background music. Smooth jazz at just enough volume to enjoy. It was fairly quiet for a Thursday night, but the other half dozen or so tables were also filled with diners expressing their appreciation for a good meal.
Beef carpaccio was, like all the dishes, the perfect size portion. My husband and I shared it well as the bruschetta, which was a little too cheesy for me but perfect for him. The chef salad is a great mix of greens and veg with a nice vinaigrette. The ostrich and kangaroo - what can I say - grilled/sauteed just beautifully and mouthwateringly delicious. The Shiraz reduction was a very nice accompaniment to the kangaroo. Both entrees were served with roasted veg and potatoes, nicely seasoned, as well as a charming little fresh vegetable relish/slaw on radicchio. Shared a bottle of 2009 Rosemount Cab Shiraz, chosen from the small but interesting wine list, proved a good choice. We lingered over tiramisu and flourless chocolate hazelnut cake, preferring the tiramisu. The "Umberto" specialty coffee was a lovely finish to the meal. Ingredients were fresh, attention was paid to presentation, and the service was very attentive yet not intrusive. We will definitely be back. (I will try the seafood pasta next time - 3 of the table of 6 near us ordered it as their favorite)

Things have settled down again after James' marriage. We took friends out for dinner last Saturday night and we were very pleased. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and friendly, everone had a great time. Glad to see this great eating place is still on track.

Very friendly, cool, hidden gem. We had a huge portion of jerk chicken, rice and beans. The prices are almost too good. Lunch, pop tax for $5.65. Food was tasty, but not real spicy. Good hot sauce on the side fixed that.

My 5 star rating is for the food and service. Romero's isn't a fancy place but the food is delicious Authentic Italian made from scratch. Great value for a delicious meal. The service is excellent too. You may need to request your red wine be chilled for a few minutes. It was a warmer than ideal temp.

Ever since tasting that mouthwatering original English style fish and chips, i have been searching the world for something similar. After trying several restaurants here in Ontario, i rate Granny Bonns a 7/10 for the tastiest and best priced fish and chips within a 100 km radius :0).

A Kitchener standby on Highland Road ... very busy all the time ... usually a 5-10 min wait ... but worth it ... the Asian lady who owns or runs the franchise has been there for at least 8 years and keeps things moving ... food always great ... for a down easterner (Halifax) ... it's always nice every now and then to have a feed of fish 'n chips (haddock every time) ... love the unlimited fries ... just wish the cole slaw side was larger ... that being said great food ...
