The Camera Repair Centre was first started in May 1974 by my father, Donald Orrell. Dad served as a photographer in the armed forces, taking several training courses and some of them being on camera equipment repair. After his retirement from the forces the local camera stores encouraged him to do their repairs. As the business developed specific training was received from Canon in Toronto. Specialized equipment was required as well as ongoing training on the new products.Canon realized that they needed an Authorized Service Facility to cover the Maritimes.
