Established in Canada in1947, McConnell Irish Dance is Manitoba's largest and most successful Irish dance school with classes for Recreational, Competitive, and Performance Irish dance. Family owned and operated, the school has taught thousands of students through three generations of Irish Dance excellence and tradition. McConnell School of Dance is a member of Cumann Rince Náisiúnta (CRN), based in Dublin, Ireland and their World class level dancers compete across North America and at the CRN World Open Irish Dance Championships in Ireland. McConnell Irish dancers host both of Manitoba's only Irish Dance Competitions, Canada Feile and the Canadian Open Championship, a three adjudicator championship and CRN Nationals Qualifier. Established in 1984 in Blue Ridge, Georgia by Kim Haight, Studio 1 has been providing quality dance and performing arts instruction to students of all ages and dance level. The abilities of each dancer are nurtured in an atmosphere of positive motivation, self discipline, and individual attention.Kim is a former Atlanta Hawks dancer, choreographer, and teacher of 26 years. Her students have appeared on Ed McMahan's Star Search, in the 1996 Olympic Opening Ceremonies, NBA halftime shows, the 1999 and 2003 Fed Ex Orange Bowl, Carnival Cruise Lines, and Disney World in Orlando, Florida. They have also obtained a wide variety ofdance awards ranging from choreography awards to national titles. Kim's students have appeared in television, music videos and gone on to various careers in the dance field.The Studio 1 faculty seek to enrich the lives of the students through valuable social interaction, the joy of creative expression, and the sense of physical accomplishment found only in the study of dance
