In 1985, a group of employees teamed up to purchase the 'custom-made' division of Usine d'Autray (now Group Bibeau) following the latter's decision to close the division to focus on the production of truck beds. UDACO Ltée was thus born, the name comes from the first letters of Usine d'Autray Compagnie.
