Shefa Meats Ltd. is the result of a concerted growth effort in 1999, when meat entrepreneurs and principal owners Yaakov Luss and Tzvi Hirschman expanded their retail Goldstein's to the current federal location. Goldstein's, a widely popular, Toronto-based kosher butcher shop, that had served the Jewish community for close to half a century, was purchased by the duo in 1989.

Whitehouse Meats was started in Windsor, Ontario in 1953. In the early 1970's, the business moved to Toronto and became a fixture of the St. Lawrence Market. In 1990, Leila and Kelly Batten (a long time employee) purchased the business from the Whitehouse family. After the untimely passing of Kelly in 1993, Leila and her family took over the day to day operations. While always known for its large selection of beef, pork, veal, lamb and chicken, the product line has expanded over the years to include one of the largest selections of game meats and speciality birds available.

Brown Brothers Meats Since 1895, Toronto's Oldest Butcher Shop still located in its original place in the St. Lawrence Market. Owned by the Brown family for 60 years before Anthony bought the business in the 70's. Anthony is a 4th generation butcher and his sons Pat and Joe have been there for 38 years.
