Cates Park Paddling Centre offers affordable kayak and paddleboard rentals at the Southern tip of Indian Arm. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver, and 5 minutes from Deep Cove, Cates Park offers an ideal launching point for your next paddling adventure - whether it's for two hours or two days.
We are open for the summer Victoria Day (late May) through Labour Day (early September), weather pending.
Through the summer, we are open Friday through Monday from 10AM-8PM. Midweek rentals are also offered on a by-reservation basis on select weekdays.

As an active paddler, I offer my own experience and knowledge of my products, since 1990 when talking to prospective clients.
I believe honest advice, that doesn't always make a sale is best for a long term reputation when selling and renting canoes or kayaks.
Safety in recreational activities is important, so I offer free advice and recommend quality equipment for safe tripping and when necessary, self rescue.
I sell new and rent flat water and white water open canoes, do minor mechanical repairs with custom cutting of wooden parts.
A satisfied customer will return.
We are located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. We rent, outfit and sell flatwater and whitewater canoes, sea kayaks as well as paddles and accessories for our boats.

When I graduated from university in 1972 with a Bachelor of Commerce, I didn't know what I wanted to do. So I went back to the bush, prospecting. I also worked on oil rigs before taking an administrative job in Edmonton working for an oil company. I hated the job but while I was there, I obtained my commercial pilots licence. I didn't fly air planes long though.

Once you have built a solid foundation it is time to move on to our intermediate and advanced programs. Here you will be taught how to safely paddle in more remote and challenging regions. We not only teach you how to paddle, but also provide opportunities to use what you have learned. Ecomarine offers paddling clubs, season's passes, clinics, seminars and much more. We can help you go kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding whenever and wherever you wish.
