As a general contractor, Jim Le Maistre began building houses in 1987, progressing to complete renovations including finish carpentry while also designing, building and installing custom cabinets. Since 1999 Jim has focused exclusively on cabinetmaking, furniture making and artistic design. Jim's work graces some of the most well appointed homes in western Canada. The Turkic or Khazak yurt with a bentwood roof and crown, the two tiered yurt, with a pointed roof, and the Mongol ger. The Mongol ger is the yurt in most common use today, being home to three-quarters of Mongolia's people.
