Open in December 2010, Alta Bistro set out to provide Whistler's visitors and locals alike a place for outstanding food and service in a casual fine dinning atmosphere year round. We set out to source the best local, in season ingredients, use creative cooking techniques to create modern French bistro cuisine on an ever changing, seasonal menu. We view sustainability as a cornerstone to our decision-making to day to day operations at Alta Bistro. We have developed strong, long term relationships with the farms in the locals areas, such as Pemberton Valley, Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley. We are passionate about flavour and bringing the best out of each season. We set out to create an award winning wine programme as well as craft cocktails. Now 5 years on, we're still passionate about wowing our clientele with unique, regional, fresh flavours.

Bistro Wagon Rouge is a blue collar French bistro located in East Vancouver's port district. With playlists compiled by our friends at Red Cat and Zulu , an ever changing 'classics' menu and plenty of features to select from, the vibe here is always fresh. Our menu isn't posted because we often like to switch things up, but you can expect to find greatest hits like cassoulet, terrine, pa^té, duck confit, pork belly, french onion soup and steak frites. We always have fish, veggies and plenty of meat on the menu. Gather around a table with friends for dinner, or pull up a stool for a glass of wine and a small bite at the bar. Owned and operated by Scott and Stephanie Jaeger, The Pear Tree Restaurant is the destination whether it be a special occasion, catching up with friends, or a relaxed weekday dinner.
My husband and I have been going to The Pear Tree since we started dating as teenagers, and still head there at least once a year for kid-free date nights. Our lives have changed significantly over the past eighteen years, but the service and quality have remained top-notch. We dine at a lot of incredible restaurants in Vancouver, and the Pear Tree is still one of our favourites. Don't miss the spot prawn cappuccino! Read more

A great restaurant with a really cosy, warm atmosphere. Were there during our honeymoon and the staff was really pleasant. The food was very good, if a bit pricey. Tried one of the BC wines and was surprised by how good it was. Service could have been more attentive but was sincere and friendly when we got it. Would recommend you try it if only for the atmosphere and the foodRead more

L'Abattoir is located in the center of Gastown between historic Gaoler's Mews and Blood Alley. The restaurant was built in the 19th century and is the site of Vancouver's first jail. Originally buttressed to the city's main butchery and meat packing district, the name L'Abattoir pays homage to the neighbourhood's colourful past. Set in a refurbished brick and beam building that combines classic French tile work with industrial fixtures, natural wood, and glass and steel finishes, the restaurant offers a bar and lounge setting, elevated dining room and plush, sun soaked atrium. Chef Lee Cooper and Owner / Operator Paul Grunberg are dedicated to highlighting the finer points of eating and drinking in L'Abattoir's informed but informal setting. French influenced West Coast fare is paired with Wine Director Lisa Haley's eclectic wine program and Bar Manager Thor Paulson's innovative cocktail list to offer a truly unique dining experience.

At PiDGiN, we see no need for distinctions between casual and fine dining. A restaurant can be both beautiful and comfortable; cuisine can be at once delicate and approachable. As dining perspectives have changed, so too has the line between east and west. Our experiences travelling and working in various continents is reflected in our food, bar, and even on our walls.

Of all the great plates you'll find at Bacchus Restaurant in the Wedgewood Hotel, the one on the wall tells the story best. It's the plate inscribed with the Four Diamond Award from the CAA/AAA. It is a perfect companion to the Wedgewood's own Four Diamond rating, an honour indicating that this rooms' service is second to none. Walk through the Hornby Street entrance, and Bacchus' attention to detail is immediately apparent. You are instantly surrounded by luxury, with richly upholstered furniture, warm, dark wood, and light fixtures imported from Venice personally by owner Eleni Skalbania. A large canvas depicting Bacchus himself, Greek god of wine and revelry, presides over the room. Lee Parsons presides over the food as Executive Chef.
