Went in after a long day at work, and enjoyed a nice brasserie-style dining exprience.
The decor is meant to evoke a Parisian brasserie, and I think it works without being tacky.
Service was pretty good, though not the quickest, and the staff friendly (and attractive).

Live jazz, great wine, wonderful meal... Need I say more?
We got a table upstairs, next to the band. Usually, you'd want to keep a distance, but this was wonderful. The singer was great. The wine selection was varied. The meal was very well done. The lamb was as good as they promised (which is not always the case at all restaurants) Our server was lovely and very accommodating. They did charge us an extra $8 for splitting the lamb-chops between the kids. If I am paying $220 for my meal, I don't expect that. Still, it did not affect the beautiful evening we had.

Alex H’s roots originally come from “Gourmateque Restaurant” a restaurant opened in 1982 located on St-Hubert Street. It had already built a reputation for its delightful food. Gourmateque Restaurant most famously known for their home made lasagna can still occasionally be found on our menu today. The man behind this was Alex himself. With already many years of experience working in some of Montreal’s best restaurants like Grand Motor hotel, Ritz Carlton, Elmridge country club, Royal Embassy, Mother Martin. Alex’s menu is filled with all the same elegant and delicious flavors but at a more affordable price.
