The Dashwood Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1984 by a dedicated group of community members who felt a strong passion to have a safer community. Today that passion is still alive and the tradition of keep our community safe is forefront with all our members. Today the Dashwood Volunteer Fire Department has 40 dedicated volunteers operating out of two stratigicly placed fire stations, and is under the direction of a Career Fire Chief Nick Acciavatti and Deputy Fire Chief Dan Francouer. Our dedicated members respond to an average of 150 calls of help from our community and surrounding communities.
We're proud of our reputation as a hub for the Canadian fire service, where firefighters and other first responders can find and discuss the day's news, along with fireservice issues from vacation schedules to twohatters and, of course, recruitment drives and job opportunities. Our news page provides an ataglance overview of the day's fireservice goings on.
