When Lora and Kevin Goodwin first began growing and selling organic strawberries and vegetables in 1998, they had no idea that they would one day produce handcrafted artisan spirits. As they worked the land, they experienced first hand the importance of supporting local farms.

The distillery was founded in 1974 and originally operated under the name 'Sunnyvale'.  In 1984, it was renamed 'Highwood Distillers' after the famous river and region that surrounds the distillery in the foothills of Western Canada's beautiful Rocky Moun
