Powers Jewellery established in 1959. Powers Jewellery first opened for business in December of 1959 when it's founder, Mr. Stillman Powers, who had apprenticed as a watch repairman, decided to stike out on his own. Initially it was more of a watch repair shop, with a few supplies and little stock, located at the north end of the bridge spanning the gorge. The next year the business was relocated to Broadway boulevard at approximately 218 Broadway. Initially all the inventory could have fit in a suitcase. With time and demand, the inventory grew to include more watches and repairs, jewellery and gift items.
