Today I took my Mom to Mountain View Cemetery to put flowers on her husband Bills gravesite. It was snowing, cold and terrible windy. It was important that she went today as 1 year ago today, on her birthday he passed away suddenly. Today she turned 80 years old and for closure purposes I felt it was important to take her to fulfill her request. Thankfully for two very nice employees, George and Steve the Maintenance Man, Mom was given a ride to the site. She called them angels!

The headstones are cut to strict standards, and are mostly provided by Edmonton Granite Memorials. An interesting thing about our cemetery is that the graves do not face East, as in most Jewish Cemeteries, but North-South instead. No one seems to know why this is so, it has just always been that way. What is also unique about our cemetery is that it serves all denominations in the community: Orthodox, Conservative and Reform.
