I just moved here from NJ and am a chef. I was looking for a quality butcher to use when I get catering parties and events. My Grandma directed me to Townsend Butchers and I see why. Dry Aged, Organic, Free Range, all of these words are thrown all over these meats. They are quite tasty and not over priced. TRY THIS BUTCHER!Read more

At JTK Meats we offer custom cuts of local and Canadian meat to walk in customers as well as self serve freezers. We also have large order options for those who are looking at packages. We differ from other meat retailers because we only offer local and Canadian meats. We offer only 100% Canadian beef that has been aged a minimum of 21 days. We only use AAA graded or higher. Raised on a corn and grain diet antibiotic free. All of our steaks are delivered fresh to you, never frozen.
Gourmet Meats has always stood for producing a quality product. When John and Audry Miedema bought Gourmet Meats in November of 1999 it was because this small shop had a reputation. John came in and learned from a German master butcher George Schmit. When John learned how to make (and tried) the German Lieberkas (Meatloaf) that Gourmet Meats was famous for he was glad he was now the owner. Gourmet Meats has kept that tradition of quality fresh and smoked products for the past 12.5 years. Yes, Gourmet Meats had introduced new product lines (Lasagna, Meat pies - made by Christa from Gourmet Catering, Sheppard Pie etc.). Gourmet Meats has also started a BBQ program where we would fill the BBQ and lend the BBQ out for the event.
Once upon a time — 25 years ago to be exact — a young P.E.I native picked up a butcher knife and never turned back. Now it has been some time since that young man started his long career in the butcher industry, but his values still rang true: unprocessed, hormone-free, properly aged meats, while still being easy on the pocket book. This man's name is Cornelis (Cory) Lamers. Cory had a vision of the butchers of old, and keeping to the traditions in use 40 years ago such as hang drying meat for 28-30+ days to ensure quality and tenderness. Local was key as well. Keeping 95% of the store a 120-mile radius of the selected location and providing fresh options for today’s family. Alongside Cory stands his wife Sheryl. Together, they set to make this dream a reality, opening a shop in Woodstock with local products, gluten free options, low sodium, reliable services and affordable pricing for families young and old.
