Vic Costa is the head coach and owner of K1 Kickboxing Academy in Burlington, Ontario. K1 Kickboxing Academy opened in September 2015. Prior to opening K1 Kickboxing Academy, Vic trained and coached at many gyms including Effective, Tapout and Prime Time. As a coach, Vic has been very successful with his fighters and has proudly been involved in the development of many successful fighters including Giovanni Dixon, Kane Heron, Amy “The Brickhouse” Reid, Tenor Broach and Lloyd “Teaganala” Reyes. Currently, Vic has fighters that are Ontario Boxing Association Golden Gloves champions, and World Kickboxing Federation Provincial and National champions. According to Vic, “The ultimate goal of Martial Arts is applying it to everyday life. The longer you train, the stronger you become through personal growth in awareness and discipline. The mental lessons of Martial Arts become more and more pertinent: focus, respect, compassion, and humility.”
No Excuse Fitness is the brainchild of Ryan Rannelli, two-time Canadian boxing champ. Ryan, who boxed on Canada’s national team, founded the gym in 2009 and his fitness philosophy borrows heavily from his athletic training and success. “No excuse, just results” is his motto and to achieve that aim he and his staff eschew extreme fitness fads and instead stick to high-intensity workouts that are proven to work, giving you quick and lasting results guaranteed Located in Burlington, just off the highway and steps from transit, No Excuse’s bright, open-concept gym offers boxing training for a range of proficiency levels, from beginners to professionals. With more than 9,000 sq. ft. of space, the gym features a full-size boxing ring, more than a dozen heavy bags and specialty bags as well as a full-size track, lifting platforms, free weights, and a 500 lb tractor tire (for flipping!).
