he folks at L'Academie care about customers. I used UberEatz to get my food and don't know if (but don't discount the possibility that) i pressed the wrong button or if something went wrong on the other end, but when I order arrived some of the dishes weren't what I thought I had ordered and my son didn't want what we got. The food was tasty just not his taste..
I called the restaurant, explained the situation to the manager and explained that I'm a single wheelchair mom and after we spoke he Read more
They started us off with warm dinner rolls - good, but nothing special. All entrees come with all you can eat fries, and they are delicious. Crunchy but not too deep-fried. Our meals also came with perfectly steamed green beans. Three out of four steaks were perfect - one rare, two medium rare. My rare steak was one of the better I've had - it was red through the middle but it was still hot when it got to the table! The fourth steak (medium) was a bit tough.Read more

I went to this place for the first time last night after hearing alot about it ( a place that only serves tartar ....GREAT)
The restaurant itself to start with has a great feel. The drink selection is great ( try the rhum and cherry coke :) )
The tartare selection is fun because you can choose different types of tartars with different preparations.
Finally , for people who do not eat tartar or want something else, they do have to my surprise COOKED items on the menu as well :)
I am definetly going again ( very soon)Read more

Opened in 1972, Solmar has been a pioneer of Portuguese cuisine in Montréal. At its current location since 1979, in a two-century-old building in Old Montréal, the dining establishment focuses on fish and other seafood, with mystical fado performances on weekends complementing the atmosphere. La Sauvagine, on the ground floor, offers market fresh cuisine and specializes in Québec game. A wrap-around outdoor terrace is accessible to patrons of both restaurants.
The entrance is hidden and small. You take the stairs up and open an old wooden door to enter a beautiful and elegant old-fashioned dining room. Live guitar plays intermittently in the background with some Portuguese songs.
We left our wine and food choices to our waiter, and we were not disappointed. The bottle of Portuguese Dona Maria was quite flavourful and fresh. The potato and kale soupe was just lovely. The seafood platter (which must be the Portuguese version of the paella) was very generous with everything from a whole lobster to mussels. While not spicy, it had no fishy smell to it at all. The deserts were as delightful. We left very happy.Read more

Had a great night out at Tango Nuevo with the girls. We ordered two dishes each and shared everything. All delicious! Our favourites were the grilled Greek Octopus and the Lamb Tacos. My vegetarian friend loved the Mushroom Polenta. Service was on point and very helpful with suggestions! Great wine selection. Ambiance seems perfect for a date night, too.
