This man's name is Cornelis (Cory) Lamers. Cory had a vision of the butchers of old, and keeping to the traditions in use 40 years ago such as hang drying meat for 28-30+ days to ensure quality and tenderness. Local was key as well. Keeping 95% of the store a 120-mile radius of the selected location and providing fresh options for today’s family. Alongside Cory stands his wife Sheryl. Together, they set to make this dream a reality, opening a shop in Woodstock with local products, gluten free options, low sodium, reliable services and affordable pricing for families young and old.

At JTK Meats we offer custom cuts of local and Canadian meat to walk in customers as well as self serve freezers. We also have large order options for those who are looking at packages. We differ from other meat retailers because we only offer local and Canadian meats. We offer only 100% Canadian beef that has been aged a minimum of 21 days. We only use AAA graded or higher. Raised on a corn and grain diet antibiotic free. All of our steaks are delivered fresh to you, never frozen.

Oegema Turkey Farms is a third generation family farm, started in 1958. Successive generations have contributed years of experience, and education in business and agriculture to develop the operation. Presently we grow approximately 55,000 turkeys per year. Our commitment to raising the best bird possible requires many hours in the barns caring for our flocks.In 1992, we started The Turkey Shoppe, offering turkey products to consumers direct from the farm. Originally there was one employee and the store was open three days a week. Over the years the business and product line has grown to the point where we are now open six days a week with 6 full and part time employees.Our wind generator, installed in 2006, provides green energy for the farm. It is a refurbished unit from the Netherlands and can produce up to 80kW/hr on a windy day. On average, it supplies 25% of our electricity.
