Although united in a common cause, no two legion branches are identically the same. Each has a special characteristic that makes it uniquely different from other branches. One such branch may be found in Banff, the Col. Moore Branch #26. This branch is unique in that being in a famous tourist resort it plays host to thousands of visitors each year. Over the years many dignitaries have visited the club including Dominion Presidents.
The Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel is a member-driven , Not-for-Profit provincial organization dedicated to providing excellence in training and professional development for individuals involved in the operation of recreation facilities. AARFP is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent the membership on recreation industry issues.

Over the weekend of March 21-23/14, the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA) Senior Indoor Provincial Championships were played. The Championships featured some of the best adult players in the Province. The Women's Classic Premier team from the Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club attended the Provincial tournament in Edmonton on behalf of the Calgary Women's Soccer Association (CWSA) and earned a Bronze medal.
