Ginko Japanese restaurant. Over the past 25 years Ginko has evolved to bring the finest Japan has to offer the Toronto area. The name Ginko is derived from the word 'Gingko' an ancient oriental tree. The tree flourishes in season to produce a yellow fruit and unique, fan-shaped leaves, which turn a beautiful golden color in the fall.
Ginko was the first Japanese restaurant my boyfriend took me to before we started dating. I was quite skeptical upon first glance, since they're located by the airport and inside a hotel. Once inside and seated in a comfortable booth, and eating, my opinion of this establishment quickly changed.
Not only does this restaurant make you feel like you've literally stepped into Tokyo (as evidenced by the traditional booths, decor and Japanese waitresses serving you in Yukatas), the food will surpass your expectations. My boyfriend was in charge of ordering, and he ordered us assorted sushi and sashimi on a boat. We were met with excellent service, and I must say--the quality of the fish and dining experience will have us be returning again soon.Read more

I have been visiting Kanda since it opened, and have always been satisfied. The food is good (considering the price), and the service is good. The food has always been fresh and flavourful, and the premises clean. As with most AYCE places, the more polite you are, the better the service you receive.Read more

Sushi sky is the largest Japanese restaurant on Yonge St since 1999. In our restaurant we have take-out, delivery, catering and we also can carry a large party for 20 to 30 people. We are proud to have been serving fresh, delicious and inexpensive Japanese dishes, ranging from sushi and sashimi to teriyaki and tempura. As part of that, we have focused on serving our food in a health-conscious manner
This restaurant is all about great value. The lunch combos with the rolls, salad, soup and dumplings or spring rolls is a fantastic deal. The sushi is decent, but the cooked food is horrible. Never buy any of that. The staff are not polite, but they aren't rude either. I don't mind that, and they are fast. This is a good place for some cheap sushi.Read more

Sano is a city located in Tochigi, Japan. It is known for its Sushi, ramen and Chinese-style noodles. There are plently of ramen shops on every street, and each person has their favorite.
Akasaka, noted as one of Richmond Hill's best Japanese restaurants, offers an extensive menu as well as a variety of services. Akasaka uses Teppanyaki Cooking Tables (iron griddle), frequently with the hot plate located in the center of the diner's table. The preparation of the meal by a teppanyaki chef can be very entertaining as well as educational. Asakasa's express lunch specials are also favourite with the busy lunch crowd. Akasaka also offers sushi cooking classes with celebrity chefs as well as catering services with a pre-set menu. The newly renovated Teppanyaki Steak House. Corporate Lunch and learning program, great fro team building and hands-on Sushi cooking classes. Conference VIP Room available, great place for Birthdays and Anniversary parties. Catering from 6 to 6000 pieces.
My boyfriend and I have visited Akasaka a few times now and have enjoyed every dining experience here. Although the owner is Chinese, he has studied in Japan and the chefs are Japanese. We agree that they serve up the best rolls in Richmond Hill.
During our most recent visit here a couple of weeks ago, we enjoyed their 10 tation roll (unbelievably delicious lobster roll deep fried!), Crown Royal Roll (fois gras, eel, caviar & gold glitter), Super Rainbow (soft shell crab), and a few pieces of nigiri. Some of their rolls look questionable ('Thai' Passion, 'Korean' kim-chee roll), and being of Japanese descent, I avoided these. Thai/Korean twists should not be mixed or confused with Japanese rolls - surely they serve these to cater to Koreans and people who enjoy Thai food. We strictly stick to their rolls (and make an exception to some nigiri). Not every Japanese restaurant does well with bringing in top quality sashimi. The waiter did not bring us our dry noodle sticks which they bring to every table at no cost. We had to ask and later remind them twice. My boyfriend ordered us the green tea creme brulee for dessert as he enjoys it very much. The serving is very small, however it is quite delicious. Our bill came to approx $78 (no alcohol). The rolls are not cheap, but you pay to get top quality here. All the rolls we had were excellent - among my favourites were the 10 tation & Crown Royal rolls. If you've had them, you will understand what I mean. They are killer!
The teppanyaki here is also very popular, as evidenced by the occupied tables. We however don't do teppanyaki, as you pay for the show. The food is not spectacular and if you're coming to a Japanese restaurant which is well-known for its rolls, its these items which one should stick with.Read more

Ok fine, the atmosphere isn't what you call "good".
However, the food is actually quite good. The soup/ramen is tasty, the service is quite good. (they even welcome you by saying hello in Japanese and bye in Jap when you leave!)Read more
