Spectacular service - I believe her name was Sarah -She was all over everything for us that night (November 2011) Despite the number of tables she had that night, she gave top notch service and all of us left a lot happier (after 2 bottles of wine of course). We arrived a little late for without reservations, but the restaurant had a table and seated us immediately (was a full house). My dinner companion ordered a glass of wine (sauvignon blanc) which was delivered promptly. I had Shiraz. We ordered the salade. The salad was crisp, fresh with crunch toasted walnuts, sweet roasted beets, and tangy raspberry viniagrette. The prawns were fabulous, seared tender and sweet, prepared with lemon butter, tomatoes and capers. Our entrees were the New York steak and she ahd salmon. Both were very good, prepared just right with a light charred crust. Did not stay for dessert, as we were out of time and had other commitments (hotel reservation) and a curfew. Our server was attentive, without being intrusive, and very helpful with explaining the menu choices. Unfortunately, he was a he. Room was dark, clean, lots of wood tones... room is a little packed, but acceptable because the darkness assured privacy. Read more

I have visited their restaurant once before and had a nice dinner experience with friends but wanted to enjoy my meal this night at home so I ordered takeout. I had their bacon wrapped chicken which was prepared just right. The bacon was crispy and the chicken very moist. A good helping of yummy mashed potatoes, asparagus puree and an Asian coleslaw so hopefully you like cilantro. The food was ready at the bar for pickup. Read more

Yaletown Brewing Company was one of the first restaurants involved in the revitalization of Yaletown and the fact that they're still here has got to tell you something. They make good food and, since they are a brew pub, they make great beer. Like all the other Mark James Group restaurants they offer the cheap beer and pizza nights that my family and I enjoy so much but quite often we head here for all the other great items on the menu too! If you can't decide which beer you want to try ask the server for one of their tasting flights where you get four different beers to sample. The location is outstanding and they have a lounge on one side and restaurant on the other so if you just want drinks and appys after work they are a great spot to choose! Last time we were there I had the Jakarta bowl with lamb tenderloin in a soy sauce with peppers and it was outstanding, My folks were with us and they swore by the fish and chips as well. One other cool thing that Yaletown does is if there is a game on at Rogers Arena they offer shuttle service to the game. So go on down to Yaletown Brewing Company and check them out! Read more

I don't think you can go wrong with that place. I went there for my birthday, best service I had and how great to enjoy the melody of the piano in the background. I have been to a number of Keg restaurants in Canada and the US and The Keg Granville Island is the best of them all. It has the best food, the best servers, the best ambience. (Not, however, the best service - but great servers.) Read more

I visited West with a friend that had been there a couple of times before. The outside of the restaurant was very unassuming. You would have no idea that there was a fantastic restaurant inside. Parking may be an issue as it's a busy streetfront but they did seem to have valet. We sat at the bar and had cesars until our table was ready--made fresh with muddled tomato right in front of our eyes. The food was all amazing both in appearance and taste. REALLY good.
