Diners take flight on a culinary adventure as soon as they arrive at this unassuming strip mall in North Toronto, where varied tasty tapas dishes rule the roost. Menu picks, like goat cheese croquettes and the swooned-over eggplant with queso fresco, are always interesting. Service staff at this Spanish-style resto, where the vibe is equal parts electric and cozy, is well informed and professional. The chef's tasting menu relieves overwhelmed diners from having to pick from an abundance of temptations. The foie gras and ceviche with chips are standouts. The wine list is a blessing that spills over with choice for tapas pairings. If reservations are unavailable online, feel free to give us a call directly to accomodate your request.
After reading some excellent reviews, I decided to bring my husband here for his birthday dinner. Most of what we had were new to us but very tasty. I've always wanted to try jamon iberico and we were able to get our first taste of the famed iberico and it was indeed fantastic! Although the dishes were small, we were pretty full by the end of our meal and the overall experience was very good. Read more

This is the third incarnation of the amazingly successful Playa Cabana brand (the original, Playa Cabana, is in the Annex; the second, Playa Cabana Cantina, lights up the Junction), proving Toronto's taste for authentic Mexican vittles endures. The menu at this new Yorkville location features lots of the good stuff from its older siblings, including quesadillas fritas; prawn, fish, chorizo, chicken, veggie, steak, pork and ground beef burritos; and a slew of tasty gluten-free, corn-based taco offerings. But this adaptation extends its all-scratch-made offerings to include more wood-smoked meats than the others. Playa Cabana Hacienda is the largest of the growing chain's physical spaces: three floors, almost 140 seats and two patios.
This place has a great atmosphere. The music wasn't too loud, so casual dining was nice. Our server (we believe his name was Matt, he had an accent) was very knowledgable and wasn't overly trying to upsell constantly. The food was fantastic and tasted great. If you come with multiple people, you can get many different tacos and share between each person. All in all, great place to grab food. Read more

The recent recipient of enRoute's coveted top spot in its 2013 list of Canada's best new restaurants, Bar Isabel is in its glory. A Spanish tapas delight, this pretention-free Little Italy charmer serves up explosions of taste in a range of dishes. The menu is huge, but regulars have advice for overwhelmed newbies: order it all. The feel of the place is stylish and fresh with just enough old-school charm to keep the hipsters in line. The wood-heavy décor delivers you to your grandparents' house and the background tunage enhances the feel. Sit at the bar if you can't score a seat at this trending joint and watch the mixologists shake their tail feathers.

The empanadas are beautiful and they make a very special and simple salad with avocado and broccoli that you must try. The food is simple and beautiful and are a reflection of the wonderful people who work very hard to make the food happen. Read more
An intimate neighborhood restaurant combining the tradition of a great bistro with phenomenal ingredients from the forests and fields of Ontario.
Edulis is amazing. The only thing disappointing for me is when dinner is over. The food is phenomenal, the service is warm and friendly, and the space is comfortable and unpretentious. They go above and beyond with thoughtful touches to the experience, like remembering it was my husband and my anniversary. It’s such a special place for my husband and I and is, by far, our favourite restaurant in the city. Read more
