I don't think you can go wrong with that place. I went there for my birthday, best service I had and how great to enjoy the melody of the piano in the background. The filet mignon was great and I can't wait to try the oysters and hopefully I get lucky enought to sit on the roof top patio during summer! Read more
Housed in a converted warehouse building at the corner Hamilton and Helmcken, the Blue Water Café is a longstanding anchor along Yaletown’s trendy restaurant row. The internationally acclaimed restaurant is known for its innovative East-meets-West seafood menu and raw bar, which combines the best of West Coast cooking with Japanese culinary traditions. The multi-tiered seafood towers – topped with oysters, prawns, scallop ceviche and other fresh-water delights on ice – are a must try.
Diana started Foodology in August 2010. She really loves eating out and trying new restaurants. So, she thought of starting a food blog to share with Vancouverites the different restaurants she eats at. She graduated from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia and works in the Marketing and Communications sector. The ratings are out of 5 beakers and are rated objectively tuned to my own tastes. I am not an expert food critic, I just tell the tales of my experiences at the restaurants I attend – The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Fish & Chips Restaurants in Downtown Vancouver Vancouver BC

Deep fried battered haddock, tartar sauce and big golden potato wedges; you would think that there isn’t much to the staple food of most Irish and English pubs but it does have its legions of connoisseurs to contend with.  Before you base your choice solely on a fish & chips menu or from someone you just met off the street, here are some simple tips to guide your stomach to the best fish & chips in Downtown Vancouver Vancouver BC.

Tips on how to find fish & chips restaurants in Downtown Vancouver Vancouver BC

  • Fish & chips restaurant reviews: Online and newspaper fish & chips restaurant reviews in the food or lifestyle section are your best tools when trying to find your favourite pub fare in Downtown Vancouver Vancouver BC. Most reviews rate fish & chips places by atmosphere, portion size, price, and service. These independent reviewers have no one to please but their love for all things battered and deep fried.
  • What you’re looking for: Fish & chips are usually served in Irish and English pubs or alehouses and regularly compete amongst each other for the claim of the best pub fare in town. If you are looking for a particular night out, a quick afternoon bite or even fish & chips delivery, call the establishment ahead of time and ask how their fish & chips rate and how fresh the haddock is.
  • Ask the neighbourhood: Most local seafood and food vendors deal directly with the fish and chips restaurants in your neighbourhood. Ask them about the restaurants they deal with and what the pub fare is like.
