Maxime Richard's story and that of Café Pista began in 2014 with a so-called bike-cafe. Maxime, a barista, had for some time been looking to invest in a project with growth potential. Passionate about inventions and new gadgets, he was interested in Montreal food trucks. While doing his research, he accidentally discovered a website that would change his life.
"I came across the fantastic project of two guys in industrial design in London, England," says Maxime. "I got in touch with them because I found their project super interesting: a bike-cafe that runs on human power." He ended up being a guinea pig for the two London entrepreneurs who wanted to test their equipment in Montreal.
