Unless you plan to file an accident claim, DON'T CALL THEM TO LET THEM KNOW. 5 years ago I called Davis Insurance to say that I was in a fender bender but it was minor. They told me that the other party filed a claim. They jacked up my insurance and today my star rating sits at 5 as a result. Shopping around, I just learned from another insurance company that there is no accident claim history on my record. My honesty cost me 4K over the past 5 years from an insurance company's dishonesty.
