Dr. Shankman was fantastic. He saw me right away as soon as I described my problem and he basically saved my eye. I had a detached retina and he referred me to a specialist right away and the whole process was incredible. I'm very thankful for Dr. Shankman's quick and thorough response to my issue.

Dr. Shankman is callous, and extremely negligent. He has incorrectly prescribed, has become snappy, and is downright extremely discriminatory and sexist, won't speak to women. My father had assisted me as I was told that I could not drive after my appointment. At that time, I was administered liquid into my eye in the waiting room with others to see, given an overabundance of the liquid and could not see properly for 48 hours. He pried my eye open and hurt my skin quite badly under my eye.
The best optometrist we have ever come across. He saved a few of our friends from needless surgeries which were not medical necessity but cash grabbers. He diagnosed my astigmatism causing me migraine headaches. He was honest enough to say that our daughter did not need glasses and we have been his faithful patients for 19 years and counting. Highly impressed! Excellent clinician!
Very experienced eye doctor. He does post op exams for retina surgery as well as cornea transplants. He examined referees for the NHL for 14 plus years. Dr. Shankman taught the Binocular Vision Clinic at the University of Waterloo for children. He is a Fellow of the Amarican Academy of Optometrists & has been an examiner.
I've been seeing Dr. Shankman for approx 5yrs. He's been very thorough and explains everything that he's doing. I haven't been disappointed yet. I would highly recommend Dr. Shankman.
The worst Eye doctor out there. He thinks his time is more valuable then his patients. we waited almost forty minutes for our appointment, we were rescheduling the appointment when he finally came out. Said I still had to pay for the appointment. I thought he was joking. I tried to explain that I had an appointment at the dealership for my car and I'm already late. I guess my car is more important then my daughter. The nerve. I had time to keep both appointments, he was behind not me, arrogant man. Not even 1 star for him, its for his receptionist,
