Meet the owner

No need to bring the evening to an end early because there is no place to go. Aki Fujita has changed all that with the Zen 8 Grill. "Most places in Calgary shut really early. I want to make a welcoming spot for late-nighters," says Aki.

Located in the Cowboys Casino down the road from the Scotiabank Saddledome arena, the restaurant is the perfect spot for a bite to eat after a Flames game, taking in a concert or just having a night on the town in one of the local clubs. The menu has a special focus on Teppanyaki, the fun and tasty Japanese food that gets prepared on a grill in front of your eyes. Aki is all for blending the best of East and West as well, so he offers Teppanyaki tenderloin steak for a unique twist on the traditional fare. The pad thai and sushi will delight those with a taste for Asian food. “We serve the best dishes from East Asia,” says Aki with pride.
